CHAMPS

We want to offer exceptionally talented young people from developing countries, both athletically and academically, the same prospects that young athletes in Europe and the USA often take for granted.

By sponsoring an athlete, you are extending your hand in a very concrete way: you are helping to cover costs for visa and other application documents!

About us

Our mission

We help talent from less privileged backgrounds (especially Africa) to study and train in college athletics in the U.S.

We are concerned with supporting young people who cannot afford the cost of a placement fee, nor the expense of visas and other external fees. Funding for the studies and the stay itself is provided by scholarships from the U.S. universities.

Help with

We have already helped +100 athletes

Thanks to sponsors and donors, we have been able to help many athletes study at American universities while elevating their athletic careers to a new level. Our goal is to help as many athletes from Nigeria, Kenya and Ukraine.

Leo Neugebauer

German decathlon record holder and NCAA champion 2023

“We all know that there are really good runners coming from Kenya in particular and I think everyone should have the chance to do something like that in America in college because it’s just such a good opportunity to just get better and balance sports and college. That’s why I think it’s very cool that you have the option there, even if you come from countries like that.”

Terrence Neugebauer

Father of Leo and soccer player from Cameroon

“Here in Africa in general, it’s quite difficult for children to get the money together to make it to the top, like other children where the parents have money. Many are poor and they can’t afford the money to get to the top.”

Emanuel Korir

Olympic and world champion 800m from Kenya/ University of Texas El Paso

“Going to University of Texas El Paso changed my life for the better. In Kenya there is hardly any support for athletes and getting an education while running is just impossible. Without this project I could never have left Kenya and would never have become a world and Olympic champion.”
